Circularity
BY BEING MORE CIRCULAR WE CAN BE FOREVER. BETTER.
When we first introduced our 10FOR25 sustainability targets, we made circularity one of our focus areas. Developing the future of circularity at PUMA requires many different departments to work together, which is why in 2021 we started “Circular Lab”, an innovation hub, which is led by our innovation and design experts. The first two projects to come out of our ‘Circular Lab’ were RE:SUEDE and RE:FIBRE.
RE:SUEDE
RE:SUEDE is more than just a shoe: it’s an experiment in circularity. Through our RE:SUEDE experiment we’ve discovered that it is possible to turn an experimental version of the classic PUMA Suede into compost under specific industrial conditions. Explore more about how the experiment worked and what we've discovered in the results.
RE:FIBRE
RE:FIBRE is PUMA's programme to transform textile waste and other used materials into new textiles. Through RE:FIBRE, PUMA is keen to address the challenge of textile waste via a long-term solution for recycling. The technology also looks to diversify the fashion industry’s main source of recycled polyester in garments from being less reliant on clear plastic bottles.
