LONDON
London has been described as the culture capital of the world! This city offers an abundance of music venues, museums, festivals and theatres. Not only does it offer cultural opportunities, but it is home to some of the best shopping retailors on the infamous streets, Carnaby and Oxford Street. Linked by some of the best public transport in the world, you can explore London by using the underground, black cabs and open top buses to see landmarks; Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tate Modern and the O2.
MANCHESTER
Like London, Manchester is built on rich culture and is known to be the Northern Powerhouse. Manchester has a diverse cultural landscape that houses galleries, exhibitions, theatres and its abundance of contemporary art scenes. It is home to two of the biggest football teams in the world, Manchester City and Manchester United, and the passion for sport can also been seen within its music history – this has city produced many bands known globally; The Hollies, Bee Gees, The 1975, Bugzy Malone and many more!
The UK has some of the most beautiful natural beauty in Europe, ranging from sandy beaches in the Southwest and Northwest and dramatic mountain and hill trails in Yorkshire, Cumbria and Scotland. The United Kingdom has some wonderful UNESCO sites, The Jurassic Coast, 95-mile stretch of coastline known for its stunning rock formations and fossils. Additionally, located in Northern Ireland the Giants Causeway, a geological wonder formed of 40,000 interlocking basalt columns.
Sport is a way of life in the UK and has a long history attached to it as we host some amazing events from Wimbledon, The FA Cup and The Ashes, and we are also a nation of Rugby Fanatics - from Union to League. We also have some more regional less commonly known events like Cheese Rolling, Tin Bath Racing and Hurling.
Annually the UK hosts some amazing music and theatrical festivals, with the most famous being The Glastonbury Festival. Featuring a diverse lineup of various pop, hip-hop and electric artists, but it also provides other activities across the 5-days such as comedy, theatre and circus performances. Other Festivals include Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Reading & Leeds Festival as well as the Latitude Festival. One event which has increasing attracting is the infamous Notting Hill Carnival, which is Europe largest street festival celebrating Caribbean culture featuring performances in music, dancing and colourful costumes and an abundance of authentic street food.
